Bihar has a lockdown from 16 to 31 July. Police officers and jawans are doing spot-checking.  Police action against those who violate it will intensify in the coming days. Blockades have been put in place at major square-intersections to ensure lockdown compliance.

The government is well aware that farmers play a very important role in the economy of the country and the well being of the people.

Article 10 of the Disaster Management Act by the Chairman of the National Agricultural Committee in the context of Order No. 40-3 / 2020-DM-I (A) issued on 24 to 25 March  regarding the nationwide lockdown by the Union Home Ministry  to fight the corona virus (2) As per the powers conferred under (I) , a second appendix has now been issued in respect of the guidelines.

This appendix has been placed in additional categories, giving necessary exemptions to agriculture and related goods services and activities  under the Disaster Management Act relating to 21 days lockdown , Bihar has a lockdown, this change will provide considerable relaxation to farmers and agriculture as well as harvesting of crops. There will be no hindrance.

Police are acting strictly against those not wearing masks amid Corona’s growing infection. The scope of action against such people is increasing. In the last 24 hours, the police have recovered a fine of Rs 3,79,000 from 7692 persons who came out of the houses without a mask. On Friday, 6733 people were fined for not wearing masks.

➡ Customer Hiring Center CHC has been started for the availability of farm equipment, farm work done by fertilizer shops, farmers and agricultural workers.

➡ Mandis operated by state governments have been started so that agricultural products can be made available to the market.

➡ Inter-state movement of agricultural and horticultural equipment related to the production and packaging units of agricultural fertilizers, pesticides and seeds, harvesting and sowing has also been relaxed.

Note: – Almost all services related to agriculture have been exempted by the government.

Agricultural seed and fertilizer shops will remain open.

The government has also issued an order to keep the agricultural shops open in the changes made in the lockdown  rules keeping in mind the farmers.

Agricultural seed, fertilizer, fertilizer shops can be open in the market, where farmers can purchase the seeds, fertilizers, fertilizers used in their agriculture without crowding.

There is also no restriction on laborers and agricultural equipment?
